Annapolis RCMP have arrested two males and a female in connection witrh a break and enter into a residence in Lequille early Thursday morning and were able to associate the suspects with two stolen vehicles.
As they were investigating the break and enter police were able to identify a vehicle associated with the crime and took chase when the vehicle drove past the crime scene. The vehicle was located abandoned a short distance away and three individuals came out from where they were hiding in the nearby woods.
All three were taken into custody at about 1:20 a.m. A 17-year-old male youth and a 20-year-old man, both from Kentville, were taken to jail. A 15-year-old girl from New Minas was later released into the custody of her parent.
Police recovered two stolen vehicles at the scene. A van had been stolen from the New Minas area earlier in the evening, and the car was stolen from Lequille. Police suspect the car was stolen when the van got low on fuel.
The three suspects are facing charges of break, enter, and theft, theft of a motor vehicle, and possession of stolen property. The two males were being held pending a bail hearing before the Justice of the Peace Center on Thursday.
