Active Communities Coordinator

Nova Scotia Health Promotion and Protection and the Kings CED Agency welcome Jennifer Coolen as the new Active Communities Coordinator. Jennifer comes to this position with a Bachelor of Recreation Management from Acadia University, specializing in outdoor recreation. Jennifer commences her duties Aug. 7, 2007.

As the Active Communities Coordinator, Jennifer will be responsible for providing support to enhance opportunities in physical activity, sport and recreation. Her primary focus is to increase physical activity levels in children and youth at the community level while working in partnership with various non-profit community organizations, municipal staff and elected officials, school boards, district health authorities and others.

Valley Trails Coordinator Position

Nova Scotia Health Promotion and Protection, through the Annapolis Valley Trails Coalition, is seeking a Valley Trails Coordinator who will be responsible for providing support to enhance trail development opportunities in Kings, Annapolis and Digby Counties.

The primary focus of this position is to coordinate, facilitate, plan, develop and promote trail development in the region by working in partnership with various non-profit community organizations, municipal staff and elected officials and others.

The location of this position is to be determined and involves considerable travel in a designated area from Kings County to Clare.

This contract position will run from Sept. 4, 2007 to March 31, 2009 (with a possibility of an extension). The deadline to apply for this position is 4 p.m. Aug.10, 2007.
