Between Monday July 23, 2007 and Sunday July 29, 2007, Windsor District RCMP responded to 153 calls for service.

Of these, there were 18 false alarms and eight misdialed 911 calls. There were five calls pertaining to disturbing the peace, two reports of found property and seven reports of damage to property.

One incident of attempted theft was reported along with five actual thefts. Two vehicles were broken into and items stolen and also two reports of break and enter were received. Again, police remind everyone to lock their vehicles, homes, and businesses and ensure valuables are placed out of sight or stored at a different location.

In relation to assaults, 11 were reported during this time period and there were six complaints of uttering threats received.

Looking at the traffic aspect of things, police investigated a total of 18 motor vehicle collisions and responded to 10 traffic-related complaints. Some of these are currently under investigation. Police also investigated six complaints of impaired driving and laid charges in three of these incidents.

Turning to CrimeStoppers, Windsor District RCMP is seeking help from the public in solving the following crimes. Sometime between Friday, July 27 and Saturday, July 28, 2007, someone broke into a residence on Underwood Drive in Windsor where an Acer laptop computer valued at approximately $1,000 was stolen.

Also, police are investigating a complaint of mischief from Quarry Road in Union Corner. Sometime between midnight and 6 a.m. Sunday, July 29, 2007 an extensive amount of damage was done to a residential property. Fencing was torn apart, flowers and bushes were cut and destroyed, and the debris was left in the middle of the road. Anyone with information on these crimes and who would like to remain anonymous can contact CrimeStoppers anytime at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS). Calls to CrimeStoppers are not taped or traced and if police make an arrest and lay charges based on the tip, callers qualify for a cash award from $50 to $2,000. Tipsters can also submit secure tips online by logging onto the CrimeStoppers’ website at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca.
