THOSE WALKING BY ALERT FIRE DEPARTMENT

Three calls to YFD dispatch were received last Tuesday, June 6, at 7:10 p.m. reporting smoke showing at the north end of the former Domtex building. Engine 4 responded from a Yarmouth Mall call and a page was sounded for members to respond. After an internal search, several firefighters laddered the building and climbed to the roof and with some soot showing and an odor of oil it was determined a faulty furnace was the cause. There appeared to be no damage.



LAKE VAUGHAN STRAWBERRY SOCIAL

On Saturday, July 7, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. the Lake Vaughan Volunteer Fire Department will be hosting their annual Strawberry Social. Strawberries, sweets, a cold plate, tea and coffee are on the menu, all at the price of $10. A yard sale will also be on the program.

FFM JULY-AUGUST HOURS

The Firefighters' Museum hours for July and August are the following:

Monday to Saturday 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. -5 p.m.

July 4, 1981 - How many ways are there to report a fire? At 1:44 a.m. a local taxi driver drove from Sand Beach to the fire hall to report a barn fire. Engine 3, Tanker 22 and 26 along with Salvage responded and were on scene until 4:10 a.m. The old barn was totaled.



FORMER CHIEF OUT OF

After several long months in the Yarmouth Hospital we understand that former chief Dave Leblanc has returned home. Our best wishes Dave, for a good recovery and good health.
