Theatre auditions
June 14
Digby and Area Theatre Society auditions for play ‘Annie Kempton’ at 6:30 p.m. in Digby Elementary School gym. All welcome to try-out for the large cast of varying ages.
Annual meeting
June 14
The annual general meeting of South West Nova Transition House Association (Juniper House) will be held on June 14 at 6 p.m., in the program room at the Yarmouth branch of the Western Counties Regional Library. The public is welcome.
Karaoke and dance

At the Royal Canadian Legion, Bear River, from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Members and guests.
Yard sale
June 16
A yard sale will be held June 16 from 8-11 a.m. at the Smith’s Cove Baptist Church.
Spring fling
June 16
Annual spring fling on June 16 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Clark Rutherford Memorial School. Rain or shine. Games, bouncer tents, BBQ, bake sale, plant sale and auction.
Breakfast
June 16
A firemen’s breakfast will be held June 16 from 7:30-10 a.m. at the Smith’s Cove Fire Hall/Community Center. Proceeds for the fire Department.
Meeting
June 18
A Sports Hall of Fame meeting will be held June 18 at 7 p.m. at the Hall of Fame building, Water Street, Digby. For more information call 245-5197.
Information session
June 19
“Listen to Whispers” – June 19 at 11 a.m. An information session for women on the warning signs of ovarian cancer will be held at the Bear River and Area Health Clinic, 1112 River Road, Bear River.
Recreation Month Celebration
June 19
There will be reading, activities and crafts at the Weymouth branch of the Western Counties Regional Library for children ages five to 12 on Tuesday, June 19 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. The program is part of the June is Recreation Month celebrations. Children will listen to stories and try a new kind of bowling. There is no pre-registration for this program.
Lecture
June 20
A public lecture on the wreck of the Gov. SS Princess Louise will take place June 20 at 7 p.m. at the Admiral Digby Museum, 95 Montague Row.
Tea and art show
June 21
The New Tusket Women’s Institute will hold a tea and art show on June 21 from 2-4 p.m. at New Tusket Baptist Church Hall.
Conference

The Scotia Fundy International Conference will be held June 26-27 at Digby Regional High School and the Digby Arena. This event is sponsored by the Digby Area Board of Trade. For information call 245-4168.

Health fair
June 27
A health fair, demonstrations and exhibits will be held at the Digby Regional High School on Wednesday, June 27. The event will include presentations on the Long and Brier Island Paramedic Project. The fair runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. All are welcome. For info contact 245-1828.
Scrapbooking

An all-day scraping and crop session will take place July 28 from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. at the Rossway Community Hall, Highway 217, Digby. Lunch and supper provided. For more information call 245-2983.

Get Moving Senior Fitness is held every Wednesday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the Bear River Oakdene Centre and from 2:30-3:30 at the curling centre. For information contact 467-3091 or the Digby Recreation Department.
Exhibit
June to September
The Scallop Palette Gallery is showing a new exhibit of works by local artists from June 13 until Sept. 12. The exhibit features artist Judy Comeau. The gallery is located at the Digby General Hospital.
