WALKATHON

June 8

The John and Diouglas Kindergarten annual walkathon will be held at South Centennial School in Yarmouth on June 8 at 9:15 a.m. Info: 742-5560.



TEEN RETREAT

June 8-9

There will be a teen retreat at Camp Peniel June 8 and 9. Cost: $20. For info call the camp at 649-2471.

BIKE RIDE

June 9

A mountain bike ride for those ages 10 to 16 is scheduled for Saturday, June 9, at 10 a.m. The ride will be along the Trans Canada Trail and will finish around 1 p.m. All equipment is provided - bikes, helmets, and water bottles. Kids are teamed up with an experienced mountain bike rider, and each ride is fully supported with first aid equipment and trained volunteers. Registration is required and space is limited. MUSEUM DAY

June 9

On Saturday June 9, the Firefighters' Museum of N.S. will be celebrating Museum Day. Activities for the whole family. Cake and refreshments. Free admission, activities are from 1-4 p.m.

YARD SALE

June 9

The Children's Wish Foundation will be holding their annual yard sale on June 9. Anyone wishing to donate items for this is asked to call 742-2126 for pick-up. No clothes or stuffed animals.

PLAYGROUND OPENING

The Hebron Community Playground, Hillside Drive, Hebron, official opening will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday June 9.

NATAL DAY QUIZ

Tour the newly renovated shelter and visit the pets up for adoption. Impound your favourite person in the "mock pound", $5 for five minutes. Bring your adopted pet for a visit and receive a treat.

The Heart and Stroke’s “Live and Learn” patient education series presented by South West Health’s stroke program, began May 9 (6-8 p.m.) and will run each Wednesday evening for six weeks.
