May 13, 2007 to May 19, 2007 continued Raymond Edward Turbitt - 94, of Port Williams formerly of Aldersville, passed away Saturday May 19, 2007 at Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Aldersville, he was a son of the late William and Amena (Hennigar) Turbitt. Raymond was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Before retiring from Legg’s Transport in 1980, Raymond had been employed by P. Williams Agencies and Gates & Watson. Raymond was a member of the St. James Anglican Church in Aldersville and the Golden Age Club in New Ross. Raymond will be fondly remembered for enjoying a game of cards, wrestling and hockey. The Maple Leafs were his team. Raymond will be sadly missed by many family and friends. Raymond is survived by his loving wife of almost 68 years, Gladys; sons, Edward (Shelley), Kentville, Ronald (Verna), New Ross; daughter, Joan (David) Woodworth, Port Williams; son-in-law, Ken Bramham, B.C.;12 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 3 great- great grandchildren and many special nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Raymond was predeceased by daughters, June Turbitt and Diane Bramham; brothers, Willie, Harry, Harold, Fred and Lloyd and sisters, Leah and Gertrude. Cremation has taken place. There was no visitation or funeral service by the family’s request. Donations in Raymond’s memory may be made to the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of the medical floor and all staff of Valley Regional Hospital who showed loving, special care to Raymond. May 13, 2007 to May 19, 2007 continued Leslie Freeman Williams, 84, passed away in Roseway Hospital, Sandy Point, Shelburne Co., on May 19, 2007. Born in West Green Harbour, he was a son of the late James and Mattie (Johnson) Williams. Leslie was a fisherman for thirty years. He also worked at National Sea Products as well as having been a caretaker of several cemetaries in Lockeport area. He enjoyed camping, hunting, gardening and he enjoyed having farm animals. He loved to be surrounded by his family. He is survived by son, Peter (Kathy), East Jordan; daughter, Audrey (Elmer) MacKay, Enslow’s Point; brothers, Roland (Nancy), Canada Hill; Roger (Judy) Allendale; Calvin, Brighton; sisters, Helen (Howard) Wood, Hamilton, Ont; Idella Salai, Hamilton, Ont; grandchildren, Christina Williams, Roseway Park; Felicia Williams, Jordan Falls; Donald (M`elanie) MacKay, Kentville; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Kathleen Hubley; brothers, Wallace, Kenneth, Percy and Cecil; sisters, Viola and Mary. Funeral service was Tuesday, May 22 in H.M. Huskilson’s Chapel, Shelburne, Mr. Bill Stewart officiated. Interment was in Williams Cemetery, West Green Harbour. Memorial donations may be made to the N.S. Heart & Stroke Foundation.
