Kings Community Economic Developments
Annual General Meeting

Community partners, Kings CED Agency members and the general public are invited to attend the Annual General Meeting of the Kings Community Economic Development Agency Wednesday, June 13, 2007 from 4:45-7:30 p.m. The AGM will be held at the Fountain Commons, Acadia University, Wolfville, N.S. Parking on campus is free of charge after 4:30 p.m.

The AGM will include presentations on such topics as the Innovative Communities Initiative, the Invest in Kings Pilot Project and the Kentville Community Development Project, and a feature presentation by Dr. Mark Johnston.

A served dinner will also be provided and 2007-2008 membership dues can be paid at the door.

Call for Directors

The Kings CED Agency is seeking to fill two term positions on its Board of Directors. These volunteer positions will be elected June 13, 2007 at the Kings CED Agency’s AGM.

Upon completion of the initial two-year term, successful applicants can reoffer to serve an additional two–year term. Board members are responsible for the effective governance of the organization, including the vigorous pursuit of its mission and objectives and the adherence to its core values.

Applicants must reside in Kings County, be enthusiastic, possess excellent communication skills, be prepared to share their talents for the betterment of regional economic development and be committed to helping communities across Kings County become more dynamic.

Board members are expected to commit a minimum of five hours per month to the position, which includes preparing for and attending monthly Board meetings.

Kings CED is committed to providing equal opportunities and encourages applications from all interested parties. If you wish to apply, respond in writing to the Agency by 4:30 p.m. June 1, 2007.

During the months of April and May, the Kings CED Agency partnered with the Nova Scotia Community College, Kingstec campus, to take part in one of their work placement courses.

Aziz Rahman was with the Kings CED Agency from April 23 to May 18. This fulfilled the requirement for his work placement course, which is part of the Business Administration Information Management program. On behalf of the Kings CED Agency, we would like to extend a big thank-you to Aziz for all his hard work and assistance throughout his time at the Agency.
