Crews were on the scene of a dump truck crash near Exit 26 on Highway 103.
Update: Wrecked Shelburne truck removed from Highway 103
After hours of hauling and digging, crews were able to remove a large dump truck from the woods on Thursday afternoon after it careened off Highway 103 the day before.
The truck left the highway near exit 26 at Shelburne crashing through a barrier and into the woods shortly after 6 p.m. on Wednesday.
The driver was not seriously injured but the truck was more than 100 metres off the highway in dense brush and trees.
On Thursday morning, RCMP and firefighters were joined by Department of Transportation crews who brought excavators and other earth moving vehicles to the site.
RCMP were investigating the crash. Witnesses at the scene described hearing a loud bang before the truck veered off the road and speculated that a tire could have blown.
