Adult Nordic Walking Program

May 22-June 26 Morning session from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., evening session 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Middleton Town Hall. †Fee: $15 (poles will be provided). To register or more information, phone 825-6611.

Blood pressure clinic

May 24 Annapolis Pharmasave will hold a blood pressure and pulse check clinic from 2 to 4 p.m. on May 24.

Granville Ferry meeting

May 24 A meeting of the Granville Ferry Community Association will be held May 24 at 7:30 p.m. in the Granville Ferry Hall.

Luncheon

Women’s Expo Concert

May 25 Enjoy the music of Ardyth and Jennifer (singer/songwriters/harpists from Shad Bay) along with Robbie Smith and Judi Cleveland (singer/songwriters from Liverpool). Freewill admission. The performance begins at 8 p.m.

Spring Tea

May 25 A Spring Tea will be held on May 25 in St. Luke's Hall, Annapolis Royal from 2 to 4 p.m. Celebrate spring with your prettiest outfit and a spring hat. Tickets available at the door.

Women’s Expo

May 25 & 26 The second annual Women’s Expo returns to the Middleton Arena. Showcasing household items, travel, fashion, auto, wellness, investments, education, foods and more! Show hours are Friday from 3 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Legion Breakfast

MAY 26 Saturday Morning Breakfast at the Annapolis Royal Legion, in the newly renovated ,small dining room, from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm. Steak and eggs, bacon, sausages, toast and much more.

MAY 26 Big Breakfast the Middleton Curling Club at 6 King St. from 8am to 11am. A community favorite.

Plant and yard sale

May 26 Plant and Yard Sale from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 noon on south side of Highway 1, across from TRA Foods (Lower Middleton). Proceeds help support service projects such as Macdonald Museum, Kings Theatre, Historic Gardens, Chrysalis House, CNIB, Sleeping Children Around the World, and Teddy’s for Tragedy.

Memoire workshop

May 26 A Memoire Workshop with Marilyn Iwama (who is with the Acadia Life-Long Learning) will be held at MacDonald Museum, Middleton, May 26 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Cost $30.

Show, Tea, and Sale

May 26 The Annapolis Valley African Violet Society's Show, Tea, and Sale will be held on Saturday, from 2 to 4 p.m. at St John's United Church Hall, Middleton.

Coffee party

May 26 A coffee party hosted by the Annapolis Royal Lions’ Club will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Annapolis Fire Hall. Come and join us for coffee and muffins.

Spring bonnet tea

May 26 A Spring Bonnet Tea will be held in the Family Life Centre, Middleton Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Those who wear a hat will be eligible for prizes. Musical entertainment. Admission $8. Advance tickets available at the church office or Valley Drug Mart, Middleton.

Candles & Classics

May 26 The 19th annual Candles and Classics will be held at Annapolis East Elementary School at 6 p.m. Delicious three-course meal; dinner music provided by MRHS Senior Concert Band. Come out and support the MRHS bands. Tickets: $16 each, available at Valley Drug Mart. Info: Rick, 765-3658.

Musical Production

MAY 26 & 27 / JUNE 1, 2 & 3 Young Company Productions will present their senior members in ‘Little Shop of Horrors’, the horticultural horror show musical. MAY 27 There will be a praise service held at the Kingston United Baptist Church, Kingston, at 7 p.m. Graham Morehead & Friends will be among the musical guests. Free-will offering.

Multi Addiction AGM

May 27 The Multi Addiction Centre Society will hold its annual general meeting at 7 p.m. at 2080 Bishop Mountain Road, North Kingston. Contact Barb at 825-3167 for information.

Mobility workshop

May 28 The Public Health Agency of Canada has funded Mobility Team Workshops for seniors in Middleton. Learn about canes, walkers, scooters, hip protectors and grab bars from seniors and experts who know. Workshops begin run every Monday until June 18. Each workshop begins at 10 a.m. There is no cost to attend, and a free lunch will be provided. To register or for more information contact Wendy Knowlton, Community Coordinator, 532-2664.

Salad plate luncheon

May 29 A Salad plate luncheon will be held at the Middleton Fire Hall from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Ham, potato salad, tomato, cucumber, coleslaw, roll, gingerbread, rice pudding, tea or coffee. $6. For Middleton deliveries, call 825-3062 and leave message by May 28. (No tea or coffee with take-outs.)

Public Speaking

MAY 29 IODE’s Public Speaking contest starts at 7pm in the Middleton Regional High School’s Library. Everyone is welcome to come while these young students demonstrate their speaking skills.

Nictaux annual meeting

May 29 The annual meeting of the Nictaux Cemetery Co. will be held at 7 p.m. at the CFC, Nictaux. All lot holders welcome.

Skating AGM

MAY 29 Middleton Skating Club’s Annual General Meeting is at 7:00 pm in Middleton Town Hall. All parents are urged to attend. Club requires new volunteers in order to continue to run. Info: Janice 825-4770.

45”s Evening

Come to the Margaretsville Community Hall for an evening of 45’s. Starts at 7pm. Admission charged. Light lunch served.

Hat Decorating Workshop

May 29 A fun hat-decorating workshop will be held at Arts Place, Annapolis Royal, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sponsored by Annapolis Region Community Arts Council (ARCAC). Breakfast

June 2 A Breakfast will be held June 2 at Bridgetown Lions hall from 8:30 to 11 a.m. First Saturday of each month. Freewill offering. Come out to support the Lions.

Milford meeting

June 4 The annual general meeting of the Milford and Area Community Hall Association will be held at the Milford Hall on Monday, June 4 at 7 p.m. Everyone is welcome.

Apple Blossom tour luncheon

June 4 The Apple Blossom tour luncheon will be held June 4 at the Middleton Fire Hall at 12 p.m. Chicken vegetable soup, corn chowder, ice-cream sundaes, tea or coffee for $6. Sorry, no deliveries. Reservations made by June 2, 825-3062.

Annual ticket auction

June 16 Annual ticket auction at Middleton Legion June 16 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Draws start at 12 p.m. sharp. Proceeds for Middleton and District Day Care. Barbecued hot dogs and pop available.

Lifeplex golf tournament

June 22 Lifeplex Wellness Centre will hold its first annual golf tournament, “Swing for Wellness,” Friday, June 22 at the Annapolis Royal Golf and Country Club.
