SURETTE, Eleanor Margaret – 93, Lower Eel Brook, Yarmouth County, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 12, 2007, in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born February 16, 1914 in Middle East Pubnico, she was a daughter of the late Mande Emilien and Beatrice Annie (Amirault) Belliveau. She worked as a homemaker, having also worked at the Windsor Wear textile mill, as well as with Sears, Halifax, in her earlier years. Surviving is a son, Paul (Sandra) Surette, Lower Eel Brook, as well as her grandchildren, Jason, Jordan and Leeanne; great-grandchildren, Jeremy and Sophia; a brother, Emile (Mary-Jane) Belliveau, East Pubnico; several nieces and nephews, both in Yarmouth County, as well as in the United States. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Theodore Emilien Surette; brothers, Oswald Belliveau, Lewellyn Belliveau; a sister, Bernadine Bourque. Visitation took place from 2-4, 7-9 Tuesday, with prayers at 8 PM, both in H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth. The funeral mass was held at 11 AM, Wednesday, May 16 from Saint Anne’s Catholic Church, Ste. Anne-du-Ruisseau, Father Crepin Khonde officiated. Interment followed in the parish cemetery. CROCKER, Melvin Ralph, MWO – 63, of Auburn, NS, passed away peacefully Saturday May 12, 2007 at his home in Auburn. Born in Corner Brook, NL, he was a son of the late Lloyd and Grace (Hollett) Crocker. Melvin retired in 1996 after 34 years of devoted service in the Canadian Armed Forces as a Master Warrant Officer. He was a member of Kingston Branch #98 Royal Canadian Legion. Melvin was an avid fisherman and enjoyed playing crib. He is survived by his wife, the former Mira Mitchell, sons, Lloyd (Lorel), Kirkland Lake, ON; Melvin Jr. (Trish), Calgary, AB; daughter, Kelly (Steve) Drover, Ottawa, ON; step daughters, Freda Carolyn Antell and Heather Fiona Hobbs, both of London, England; brother, Bud (Pat) Crocker, Deep Brook, NS; twin sister, Marion (Peter) Bailey, Kingston, NS; sisters, Ida (Milton) Noel, Woody Point, NL; Kitty (Bill) Dobbin, Dartmouth, NS; grandchildren, Emma, Rebekah, Rachel, Sydney, Bradley, Kelsey, Gregory Crocker; Braiden, Jacob, Nolan Drover and many nieces, nephews and special friends. He was predeceased by sister, Lillian; brothers, Max and Ben. Cremation has taken place. A Legion Tribute service conducted by Kingston Branch #98 Royal Canadian Legion was held Wednesday, May 16, 2007 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, (902)825-3448. Lynn-Louise Brush — Of St. Catharines, Ontario, passed away on Wednesday, May 9, 2007, at McMaster University Hospital, Hamilton, Ont., after a lengthy illness. Born in Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia, on July 30, 1965, she was a daughter of Jean (Gardner) Hrick of London, Ont. (formerly of Brooklyn, Queens County), and the late John Hrick. Besides her mother, she is survived by her husband, Ken; daughter, Heather; sisters, Debbie (Richard) Kruz and Anne-Marie Campbell; brothers: John (Tracey) Hrick, Bill Hrick, and Michael (Debbie) Hrick; and her Nova Scotia aunts, Shirley (Ivan) Rodenhiser of Bridgewater, and Florence Gardner of Brooklyn. Funeral service was held in Thorold, Ontario, on Saturday, May 12.
