April 22, 2007 to April 28, 2007 continued Delbert Arnold “Bill” Keddy- 65, Sheffield Mills, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2007, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Wolfville, he was a son of the late Laurence and Ethel (Griffin) Keddy. Bill was a truck driver and drove for G.K. Morse, Cornwallis Trucking and Maple Leaf Poultry. Bill loved to travel and being with family and friends especially his grandchildren and his Jack Russell Terrier. Bill was an easy going person who took in and appreciated life and nature. He loved to work in his vegetable garden. Bill will be missed by all that knew and loved him. Bill is survived by his wife, Pauline (Atwell); sons, Fred (Angie), Arlington, Tex.; William (Carol), Stoneybrook, Ont.; daughters, Valarie, Sheffield Mills; Kimberlee (David) Daigle, Kentville; Janis (Keith) Parsons, Canning; brothers, Robert (Joan) Keddy, Centreville; Ruth (Wayne) Blenkhorn, Port Williams; Deborah (Lewis) Benedict, Port Williams; Victoria (Robert) Johnson, Centreville; grandchildren, Amanda, Thomas, Jeffery, William, Chad, Tyler, Zachery and Jonah; several aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brother, Bruce. Cremation has taken place. A private family service was held on Thursday, April 19, 2 p.m. in Serenity Funeral Home, Rev. Ulric Dawson officiated. No flowers by request. Donations in Bill’s memory may be made to Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of choice. April 22, 2007 to April 28, 2007 continued Ronald Richard Coldwell – of Riverside Dr., Bathurst, passsed away peacefully at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, on April 26, 2007 with his family by his side. Ron was born in Wolfville, NS, on June 27, 1928, son of the late Clarence and Genesta (Coolen) Coldwell. Ron worked in the hardware industry most of his life as manager of the hardware department of Stairs, Son and Morrow in Halifax and then moved to Bathurst in 1965 as manager of the hardware department at Eddy Wholesale. Before retirement he worked at Cassidy’s. Through the years Ron has been an active member of the Lion’s Club and Kinsman Club. He became a Mason, recenlty receiving his 50 year Jewel. As a Shriner he was extremey interested in helping sick children. Ron spent many hours in the woods (up river) canoeing, snowmobiling or just enjoying the outdoors with his many friends. He is survived and will be sadly missed by: June, his wife of 55 years, one daughter: Kathleen Conde (Norman) of Bathurst, two sons: Steve (Chris) of Calgary and Bill (Sandy) of Dallas, Texas, USA, five grandchildren; Julie, Michael and Amy of Calgary and Heather and Sarah of Bathurst, one sister: Rosaline Smith (Alfred) of Toledo, OH, USA, several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by a brother, Albert. The family received relatives and friends on Sunday afternoon at Elhatton’s Funeral Home. (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral service was held on April 30, 2007 from the Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rodrick Black officiated. The family would appreciate donations to the Shriner’s Children Hospital, the Kidney Foundation or a Charity of the donors choice.
