CAMERON, Clarence, 101, of Roseway Manor, Sandy Point, formerly of Shelburne, passed away in Roseway Manor on Monday, May 7, 2007. Born in Shelburne, he was a son of the late Christopher and Alice (Bower) Cameron. He is the last surviving member of his immediate family. Clarence was an avid hunter and loved his camp. He was a Past Captain of the Shelburne Fire Department. He was employed as foreman for Shelburne Woodworkers Mill for fifty-four years, retiring at the age of 72 years. He is survived by his wife, the former Hattie Goulden; daughters, Gladys (Bill Hitch), Aylesford; Margaret (Gene Hemeon), Prospect Bay; son, Wayne (Brenda), Shelburne; ten grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by son, Charles. The body has been cremated under the direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Shelburne where a memorial service took place on Thursday, May 10 with Rev. Joanne McFadden officiating. Interment of ashes in Pine Grove Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Roseway Manor or charity of choice. Winnifred Kathleen Coffill – 95, of Kentville, passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2007 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Kingston, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Laura (Barteaux) Annis. In her earlier years, she had been employed with the Digby Pines Hotel and the Cornwallis Inn, Kentville. She then worked for a number of years with Maritime Tel and Tel, from where she retired. She is survived by a daughter, Carolyn Coffill, Lower Sackville; a son, Gary Coffill, Kentville; a brother, Harry, Tatamagouche; many nieces and nephews. She will also be sadly missed by pets, Millie and Sammy. She was predeceased by her husband, Scott; two sisters, Annabelle Johnston and Velma Giesbrecht; a brother, George. Cremation has taken place under the direction of the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. Visitation was held from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, May 10, 2007 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service, followed by a reception, was held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 11, 2007, Doctor Robert Wilson officiated. Burial took place in the Scotts Bay Cemetery, Kings County. Family flowers only by request. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Kings County S.P.C.A. BEALS, Dora Opal – Inglisville, N.S., loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully May 8, 2007 in Northhills Nursing Home, Granville Ferry at the age of 77. Born in Nictaux, Annapolis County, Dora was the daughter of the late Percy L. and Edna (Hines) Connell. Dora loved camping with Vernon, especially at Keji and the Morden Shore. She loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her beloved husband, Vernon William of 51 years; a loving son, Vernon “Rickey”; daughter-in-law, Karen (Johnson), Inglisville. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Travis Connell Beals, Meghan Holly Beals, both of Inglisville; brother, Jack (Jean) Connell, Inglisville and sister-in-law, Freda Connell, Weston. She was predeceased by sisters, Gladys Hoffman, Irene Spears, Gertrude Smith; brothers, Lealand, Ralph, Murray, Sidney and Loring Connell, in infancy. By request, there will be no visitation. Funeral service as held 2 p.m. Saturday, May 12 in Inglisville United Baptist Church. Rev. Barbara Bishop officiated. Interment in Whitman Cemetery, South Williamston. Family flowers only please. BISHOP, Barclay Buoy - 85, of Middleton, formerly of South Williamston, N.S., passed away May 8, 2007 in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in South Williamston, he was a son of the late Barclay and Elmina (Schurman) Bishop. Buoy served overseas with the Canadian Army during the Second World War. He was a heavy equipment mechanic for 20 years and also operated his own plumbing business. He retired from the CE section, CFB Greenwood in 1981. Buoy’s family meant a lot to him. After retiring, he and his late wife Myrtle, enjoyed canning fruits and vegetables and making quilts. Buoy was an avid outdoorsman and particularly enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing, but most of all driving his car. He is survived by daughters, Carolyn (Ron) Muir; Connie (Reg) Gaul; Caron Bishop, all of Middleton and Corene (Hank) Durland, Lawrencetown; grandchildren Kim, Tami, Craig, Bobbie-Jo, Pebbles, Leigh and Megan; great-grandchildren Cody, Sydney, Keirsten, Jade, Evan, Liam, Chandler, Finn and Cullen Barclay. †He was predeceased by his wife, the former Myrtle Frank, sisters, Iona and Leila. There will be no visitation by request.†A graveside memorial service was held 2 p.m. Friday, May 11, 2007 in the Fairview Cemetery, Lawrencetown. Rev. Richardson (nee Goucher), Audrey (Betty) – After a courageous fight with cancer Betty passed away in Duncan, B.C. on May 8, 2007. Betty was born on Sept. 8, 1936 in Bridgetown, Nova Scotia. Surrounded by her loving family, beloved husband and soul mate Jack (Chief Petty Officer 1st Class William John Richardson, M.M.M.,CD) of 51 years. Loving mother to Vera Legault (Mike), Timothy, Sandy Nettleton (Ed Kwiatkowski), Janet McLeish (Roy), cherished grandma of Dominique, Mathew, Amanda, Jessica, Adam, dear sister of Fred, Bud and Anne, much loved mother Muriel Goucher. Betty will be sadly missed by many relatives and friends. A Funeral Service was held in the Chapel of First Memorial Funeral Services, 375 Brae Road, Duncan on Saturday, May 12. The family would like to thank all the staff at the Cowichan District Hospital for their kindness and compassionate love and care. Amero, Stewart James - 65 of Plympton, Nova Scotia passed away May 8, 2007. Born June 18, 1941 in Plympton, he was the son of Lena (Amero) and the late Gerald Amero. Stewart was a fisherman/fish cutter. Stewart is survived by wife, Louise (Doucet), daughters Suzette (Gosson), Digby and Michelle (Gosson), North Range; grandchildren; Danielle, Brady, Andrew and Megan, mother Lena, Plympton: brothers; Stanley, Digby; David, Plympton; Darrell, Plympton; sister Doreen Doucet, Digby. Stewart was predeceased by son Paul, sister Dolores and father Gerald. Cremation has taken place. No Visitation by request. The funeral mass was held May 11 at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Plympton, with Father Marek Pecak officiating. There will be a reception following the service at the Holy Cross Catholic Church Hall. All are invited to join the family for a time of reflection and fellowship. ALLEN, Devin Benjamin - 25, Yarmouth, passed away as a result of a motorcycle accident in Quinan on May 9, 2007. Born March 12, 1982, in Yarmouth, he was a son of Benjamin Allen and Shelley Ensor. Devin loved to sing and play music. He was an avid outdoorsman and a jack-of-all-trades. Devin loved young children and biking. He is survived by his partner, Denise Lynn Kennedy and her children Emma, Patrick and Ethan, Yarmouth; brothers, Nicholas, Forest Glen; Derek, Forest Glen; maternal grandparents, Edgar "Ed" and Rosalyn "Rose" Ensor, Yarmouth. Devin was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, George and Geraldine Allen. Visitation was held Friday, May 11 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and funeral service took place Saturday, May 12 at 3 p.m., Rev. Peter Turpin officiated, both in Sweeny's Funeral Home, Yarmouth. Halliday, Percy Albert – 85, of Hillsburn, passed away Friday, May 11, 2007 from the Northhills Nursing Home, Granville Ferry. Born in Hillsburn, he was the son of the late Morland and Lidia (Milberry) Halliday. He worked for the Department of Highways for 20 years. He helped to build boats, and loved his hobby of rebuilding old cars and trucks. He is survived by his brothers Leigh (Dorris) of Hillsburn, Ernest of Middleton, Curtis (Ann) of Alberta, Kenneth (Faye) of Hillsburn, Alton (Thelsa) of Delaps Cove, Clarie (Joyce) of Hillsburn; sisters Elsie MacNutt of Kentville, Helena Longmire of Annapolis Royal and Willma Chute of Dartmouth. Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Brother-in-law to Jennie Halliday, Albert Difford and Kinsmen Gregory. He was predeceased by his brothers, Ronald, Reginald, Ross and sisters Geraldine Difford and Lottie Gregory. Visitation was Sunday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal. Funeral service was held Monday, May 14, at 11 a.m. from the Hillsburn United Baptist Church. Skelhorn, David Dennis, 64, of Garlands Crossing, passed away Friday May 11, 2007. Born in Windsor, he was the son of Edna (Garland) and the late Harold “Had” Skelhorn. Surviving are his daughter Paula (Darrell) Hewey, Dartmouth and son Gregory (Tanya), Prospect Bay; grandson Matthew Hewey and granddaughters, Emma Hewey, Caitlyn Skelhorn and Meagan Skelhorn. Allison Henry “Al” Parrish – 76, of New Minas, Kings County, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Friday, May 11, 2007 at home. Born in Canard, Kings County, he was a son of the late Harry and Ethel (Morine) Parrish. He had been employed with V.C. Woodworth and Blunden Construction as a trade carpenter, foreman and supervisor for many years. He was a member of both the Royal Canadian Legion, Kings Branch No. 6, Kentville and the Highland Seniors Club. He is survived by his devoted companion, Barbara Bishop; four sons, Gary (Cindy), North Alton; Larry (Kathy), Sackville; Vincent (Valerie), North Alton; Andrew, Chester; three daughters, Sharon (James) Pineo, Middle Dyke Road; Marlene Andrews (Bruce Wood), North Alton; Elaine (Nickey) MacNutt, Pereau; their mother, Doris Walsh, New Minas; brother, Clifford (Helen), Kentville; sister Emma Dominey, Coldbrook; grandchildren, Tanya, Matthew, Jennifer, Melissa, Dwayne, Melissa, Nicole, Kimberly, Adam, Amanda, Evan and Stephanie; great-grandchildren, Ryley, Lex and Kaden; several nieces and nephews.
