Champlain Garden Club

May 10 Champlain Garden Club meets Thursday, May 10, 7:30 p.m. at St. George St. Andrew United Church Annapolis Royal (rear entrance). Marida Godwin from the Clean Annapolis River Project will make a presentation on Invasive Species. All welcome. Info 532-0901.

Hike for Hunger

May 10 The Bridgetown and Area Food Bank's annual Hike for Hunger will be held Thursday, May 10 from 6 to 8 p.m. Please be generous with your donations of non-perishable food and/or money. The 4-H Club members will be canvassing and the Lions Club will provide transportation.

Depression support group

May 10 The Canadian Mental Health Association is inviting anyone interested in joining a depression support group to attend a meeting in Bridgetown at the CMHA office May 10 at 1 p.m. For information call 526-2456 or 665-4801.

Annual dinner meeting

Authors Series

May 10 The Annapolis Valley Regional Library's Nova Scotia Authors Series presents author Pamela Porter, GG winner for 'The Crazy Man,' at the Rosa M. Harvey and Middleton Area Library, from 3 - 4 p.m. May 10. This free event is recommended for ages 8 and up. Porter will read from her book and talk about the writing process. Spring Bingo

May 11 Spring Bingo at Lawrencetown Consolidated School will be played on Friday, May 11. Bingo starts at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m. All books $5 each, cookie jar, 50/50 draw, and door prizes. Special activities for school aged children. Look for the LCS Cookbook on sale as well.

Best of Broadway...The Sequel

May 11-12 Middleton Choral Society, directed by Maureen MacLean, presents an evening of music from Broadway shows at Annapolis East Elementary School, 7:30 pm, tickets $5 for all.

Kingston Supper

May 12 Knights of Columbus, Council 6297 and Kingston United Baptist Church are

May 12 Mother’s Day Supper will be held Saturday, May 12 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at Melvern Square and Area Community Centre. Turkey, mashed potto, gravy, carrots, peas, dressing, cranberry sauce, gingerbread with whipped cream, tea and coffee. Adults $8. Children $4. Takeouts available after 5 p.m.

Corn chowder

May 12 At Inglisville Community Hall, on May 12 from 4 to 6p.m., enjoy a Mother’s Day meal with corn chowder or hamburger soup supper, roll, tea/coffee and dessert $5. Basket draw.

Birds Musical

May 12 The Gathering of the Birds Musical featuring the Kings Chorale Children's Chorus and the Studio-to-Stage Dance Academy, will be performed at Kings Theatre, Annapolis Royal, at 3 p.m. Tickets are $10, $5 for students. Relay for Life Yard Sale

Resumes for Women

May 15 Resumes for Women Workshop will take place on May 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Women’s Place, 38 Queen Street, Bridgetown. The workshop is put on by the Job Search Centre and will help stay-at-home moms to adapt their resumes to reflect their skills developed while raising children and homemaking.
