There were 140 reports made to RCMP in Kings County between Feb. 4 and Feb. 8.

A driver on Highway 101 near Hantsport ran into a coyote at 6:45 a.m.

A patient assaulted a staff member at the rehab centre in Waterville.

Two men, aged 22 and 19, were caught shoplifting in New Minas and arrested.

A 56-year-old man was caught driving while disqualified and without insurance in North Kentville. His vehicle was seized.

An empty residence at Acadia University was broken into in Wolfville.

A 41-year-old woman was stopped and arrested while shoplifting in New Minas.

At 7:15 p.m., a 63-year-old man had a collision on on Prospect Rd. in New Minas. He left the scene. A witness pointed him out at a nearby grocery store and he was charged with impaired driving.

A report came in of an open fire on Huron Ave. that contravened Wolfville bylaws.

Just after midnight Feb. 5, a 20-year-old man who had been drinking was arrested and turned over to his parents.

A drunk female was reported by a New Minas business.

An 18-year-old male was caught shoplifting in New Minas at 9:17 a.m.

A woman called police for advice about another woman allegedly spreading rumours.

A cushion was taken from an unlocked vehicle in New Minas.

Fourteen videos were reported stolen from a locked case at a New Minas department store.

A North Kentville resident reported a sum of money stolen by a family member while the owner was in the shower.

A window was broken at a North Kentville residence, but no entry was gained by thieves.

A man bought a new PlayStation device, then tried to return an old Play Station in the new box. He was charged with fraud.

Animal control is investigating an incident involving two dogs and a woman who was bitten in Baxter’s Harbour.

A noisy party on Wolfville Ridge was disturbing others at 12:55 a.m.

At 1 a.m., a driver lost control and crashed a vehicle on Middle Dyke Rd. after refusing to stop for police. The 31-year-old male left a shoe on a gas pedal, then ran. He was caught and charged with impaired driving and fleeing police.

A drunk male - not a student, was arrested on the Acadia University campus.

There was a disturbance at a drinking establishment in Greenwood at 2 a.m.

A 20-year-old man ended up with four charges after an incident at 3 a.m. in North Kentville. The charges include assault, property damage and theft.

A 48-year-old man was reported at a New Minas coffee shop for snorting pills through a straw. Police determined he was highly intoxicated and already bound by conditions. He was arrested.

A hit and run driver in a Coldbrook parking lot was reported and located by means of his license plate.

A suspended driver was stopped on Highway 101 and charged. He had no insurance and his vehicle was towed.

A 45-year-old woman who had been drinking was arrested while a break-in was in progress at a North Kentville residence early Feb. 7.

Police are investigating an assault in New Minas about 2 a.m. Thirty minutes later, two men were arrested following a fight in the same village.

A front door was kicked in at a North Kentville residence, but not entry was gained.

A thief broke into a Canning business and stole cigarettes just before midnight.

Two obscene phone calls were reported Feb. 8.

There were six family relations calls, including one that involved both drugs and an assault.

There were three domestic incidents, one of which involved alcohol, mental health issues and an assault.

Nine mental health calls were received and one sudden death occurred. One was Alzheimer’s Disease related. Two involved a woman banging on doors and a third concerned a 54-year-old man who took off his pants and stowed them in an oven at a New Minas store.

There were four false business alarms, two false residential alarms, one false school alarm and 19 false 911 calls, including two from the psych ward at Valley Regional Hospital.
