The Annapolis RCMP responded to 97 calls for assistance during the week of June 15 though June 22. Among these were seven false 911s; two false alarms; two traffic accidents and three domestic matters.
With schools soon closed for the summer, police caution the public to remain alert and report any suspicious vehicles and activity around area playgrounds and recreation centers. Young people will be spending more time outside and the public is asked to report the license plates of any suspicious vehicles near the playgrounds.
RCMP also note an increase in the reported number of impaired drivers in recent weeks and wish to remind members of the public that if they are drinking, they shouldn’t be driving. Following are highlights of the calls:

June 15 at 10:51 a.m. Brickton. A caller reported a theft under $5,000 after discovering that a two-man tent had been stolen.
June 16 at 12:47 p.m. Police were called to a single vehicle accident on Highway 101. The driver was transported for observation and the vehicle sustained considerable damage.
June 16 at 4:17 p.m. Middleton. A 12 year-old was reported missing. The child was later located.
June 16 4:50 p.m. Springfield. Police were called to investigate a report of threats between parties known to each other.
June 16 at 9 :18 p.m. Bridgetown. A driver was reported after nearly hitting two pedestrians at a crosswalk.
June 17 at 2:59 p.m. Spa Springs. Police discover a traffic accident after the driver went in the ditch. No injuries were reported and the vehicle sustained minor damage.
June 18 at 3:05 p.m. in Perot. A commercial property owner reported a possible break and enter.
June 18 at 3:07 p.m. in Perot. A neighbouring property owner reported a break and enter. A suspect was identified and the youth accepted responsibility.
June 18 at 3 p.m. Bridgetown. A resident reported a youth was squealing tires and fishtailing at a local institution. The youth was given two summary offence tickets that ranged in possible fines from $222 to $567.
June 18 at 8:15 p.m. in Middleton. A male reported a female for threatening to kill him after an argument escalated. A patrol contacted both parties and the situation was mitigated.
June 19 at 3: 41 p.m. in Middleton Police received a report of a vehicle parked illegally on Commercial St.. The vehicle had three tires on the sidewalk.
June 19 at 11:11 p.m. Moiscelle. A multi-agency search was dispatched on the Annapolis River after a flare was discharged. The Joint Rescue Command Centre in Halifax was tasked and a local fisherman patrolled the river. The search was called off after no one was found to be in distress.
June 20 at 6:55 a.m. Meadowvale. A resident reported that an unknown male was passed-out in the home’s breezeway. A patrol was dispatched and found that embarrassed male had left the scene on foot.
June 20 at 7:31 a.m. Lawrencetown. Police received a report that a party known to the complainant was pounding on the door.
June 20 10 a.m. Round Hill. Police received a report of a possible impaired driver.
June 20 at 1:03 p.m. Nictaux. Police received a report of a possible impaired driver.
June 20 at 4:42 p.m. Police received three reports of an impaired driver leaving Middleton and travelling eastward.
June 20 at 7:15 Port Lorne. Police received a report of a possible impaired driver.
June 20 at 8:52 p.m. Police were called to Bear River after a person playing an online game made reference to doing self- injury.
June 20 at 9:16 p.m. Middleton. Police were called to investigate an assault between parties known to each other.
June 20 at 10:23 p.m. Police received a report of a possibly impaired driver in Torbrook. The matter remains under investigation.
June 20 at 10:30 p.m. Police received a report of a possibly impaired driver in Bridgetown.
June 21 at 1:36 p.m. A caller reported a disturbance in Meadowvale. A patrol was made and parties were cautioned.
June 21 at 2:59 p.m. in Port Lorne. A caller reported that a tree was down across the road and blocking traffic. Police removed the hazard.
June 21 at 9:51 p.m. One male was arrested in Bear River after an assault between parties known to each other.
June 21 at 9:38 p.m. Police were called to a Lawrencetown residence after items of value were stolen. The matter remains under investigation.
June 22 at 9:31 a.m. A break and enter was reported at a Lawrencetown commercial establishment.
