RCMP responded to a total of 102 calls in the Annapolis County region during the week of November 3 to 10. Among these were 10 false alarms, two false 911s, 15 motor vehicle accidents, and three domestic incidents.

Fifteen motor vehicle accidents is more than any other week in memory. In fact, this past week was all about motor vehicles, dangerous driving, illegal entries into vehicles, property stolen from vehicles, vehicles off the road, vehicles on fire, vehicles showering sparks, a horse on the highway, a steer in the road, collisions with culverts, collisions with deer, even a collision with a bear. Luckily very few injuries were reported, but otherwise it was all motor vehicles, all the time.

On a related note: A general public request has been lodged with the RCMP to increase vigilance regarding speeding within Middleton town limits. (Note: Due to the sensitive nature of complaints involving sexual assault, domestic violence, children’s welfare, and mental health, not all calls are considered appropriate for publication.)
