Wolfville Memorial Library has long had a reputation for great service. Now the branch offers an entirely new possibility.
Anyone in downtown Wolfville without a computer who wants to check e-mail, a flight schedule or the weather can stop in.
The Wolfville library is a “hot-spot,” providing free public Internet access, but what’s new is an Internet kiosk accessible outside the building 24 hours a day, seven days a week. When the library and C@P lab are closed, says branch librarian Lisa Rice, people can still check for that important e-mail.
The kiosk is a pilot project of the Wolfville branch and C@P lab staff. Creator Nick Kasteljanov says all parts used came from recycled, donated computers.
The kiosk is set up to provide basic Internet browsing in English and French. It logs off automatically after 15 minutes.
