Kings West Shooters and New Ross Fencibles captured their respective division titles from the 24th annual Valley Senior Soccerfest, held July 27-29 in Kentville.

In the women’s division, Kings West won the championship for a second straight year by edging East Kings 1-0 in an all-Kings County final. Tasha Reid had the game’s only goal, and Tammie Lutz earned the shutout.

In men’s play, New Ross needed a shootout to edge Chester 1-0 in the final after keepers Jared Gates and Sean Morrison both turned in perfect games through regulation time and overtime.

It marked the eighth trip to the Soccerfest final in 12 years for Chester, which is still in search of its first championship.

In men’s semifinal action, the Fencibles topped Maritimes Utd. 1-0, while Chester edged Molson Spitfire 3-2 in a game that needed penalty kicks to decide.
