A couple of Launchers Athletics members turned in personal best results and garnered top-five finishes at the 2014 Canadian track and field championships this past weekend (June 27-29) in Moncton.

David Bambrick of Wolfville threw a new personal best 11.91 metres in the Para shot put, easily bettering his previous personal best of 11.45 metres. Bambrick was awarded the bronze medal based on a points system where all male parashot putters are ranked for position. Bambrick was also scheduled to compete in discus at the competition.

Meanwhile, Acadia student Jodi Langley threw a lifetime best 44.91 metres, good for fifth place overall in senior women's discus. Langley, who according to coach Steve Wohlmuth, "continues to improve" in the event, is now within striking distance of the provincial record of 45.37 metres.

Full results to come.
