Good showing for Kings County swimmers at Ken Dunn Invitational

Swimmers from the Wolfville Tritons and Greenwood Dolphins both turned in top performances at the Ken Dunn Invitational provincial long course swim championships, held May 30–June 1 in Halifax.

Fourteen Wolfville swimmers turned in 23 top-three swims (including four firsts, nine seconds and 10 thirds), 45 top-fives and 61 top-10s.

Eight Greenwood swimmers combined for six top-threes (two firsts, one second and three thirds), 10 top-fives and 15 top-10s.

 

Top Triton

Sam Adams, 14, won the 100 and 200 breaststroke, was second in 100 and 800 freestyle, third in 400 free and fifth in 200 free.

Rebecca MacPherson, 18, won the 400 free and 200 IM, was second in 100 back, third in 400 IM and fifth in 100 fly.

Benjamin Henger, 16, was second in 50 and 200 fly and 1,500 free, third in 400 IM, fifth in 200 breast and seventh in 200 free. Eveline Choquette, 15, was second in 100 breast, third in 800 free and 100 fly and fourth in 50 fly and 200 IM.

Carlena Eye, 18, was second in 1,500 free, third in 400 free, fifth in 200 free and 400 IM and ninth in 50 fly and 200 IM. Patrick Henger, 18, was second in 100 fly, fourth in 200 free and sixth in 50 free.

Bo Stokesbury-Price, 11, was third in 50 free, fourth in 800 free, 200 back and 200 IM, fifth in 200 free and sixth in 400 free.

Brendan Vibert, 18, was third in 1,500 free, fourth in 200 breast, fifth in 200 fly and 400 IM, eighth in 200 back and ninth in 200 free. Connor Adams, 17, was third in 200 breast, fourth in 1,500 free and 100 breast and sixth in 200 free.

Will Macdonald, 14, was fourth in 200 back and 1,500 free, fifth in 400 IM and eighth in 200 free. McLachlan Muirhead, 14, was fourth in 400 IM, fifth in 200 breast and sixth in 200 free.

Kovi Young, 15, was sixth in 200 fly, ninth in 400 free and tenth in 200 back. Dia Hoegg-Phelps also cracked the top-10 with a sixth-place finish in 400 free.

 

Top Dolphins

Leading the Greenwood contingent was Kyra Jarvis, 12, who won the 50 back in her age group, was third in 200 back and 200 free and fifth in 50 free and 50 fly.

Mercedes LeBlanc, 15, won the 100 breast, was fourth in 200 free, and tenth in 100 free. LeBlanc also won the preliminaries of the 50 breast before being disqualified in the final.

Etienne Gagnon, 11, was second in 50 free, third in 50 fly, fourth in 200 free and sixth in 200 IM.  Logan Way, 15, was sixth in 200 back and eighth in 50 back and 400 IM.
