Four members of the Wolfville Tritons Swim Club are competing at the Speedo Eastern Championships this week – and they’re making a splash.

Tritons Benjamin Henger, Eveline Choquette, Kassandra Parson and Rebecca MacPherson are among the 35 swimmers competing for Nova Scotia at the event, which is being held from Feb. 13-16 at the Windsor Family Aquatic Complex in Ontario. This short course competition serves as an excellent racing and development opportunity for Canadian youth and junior competitors.

Following the first day of competition, MacPherson came 16th in the 16 and over 200 metre freestyle event with a time of 2:05.79.

Parson placed 19th in the 16 and over 50 m butterfly with a time of 29.39, while Choquette came ninth in the 15 and younger 200 m breaststroke with a time of 2:39.55.

Henger had the top results for the Tritons, placing seventh in the 16 and younger 100 m backstroke with a time of 58.60 and eighth in the 16 and younger 50 m butterfly with a time of 26.19.

Competition continues through Sunday.
