The Horton girls' basketball team won all three of its games at the Horton Griffins Acadia Holiday Classic Dec. 13-14 at Horton.
The weather played havoc with the tournament schedule. Some games had to be rescheduled, and some ended up not being played at all.
Seven games were played, though, with the Griffins getting to play three times. Auburn Drive and Dartmouth each won the only game they played; C.P. Allen finished at 1-1; Memorial at 1-2; Halifax West at 0-3; and Yarmouth 0-1.
In Horton's first game, the opening game of the tournament Dec. 13, the Griffins outscored Halifax West 78-47.
Haley McDonald led the way offensively with 33 points, including eight three-pointers. Lauren Jodrey added 23.
In their second game, Horton topped Memorial 63-43. Jodrey finished with 23 points and McDonald 16. In their third and final game, the Griffins defeated Yarmouth 80-52. Jodrey scored 20 points and Maria Rodrigues 12.
In other games, Auburn defeated Memorial 51-42; Memorial topped C.P. Allen 70-60; Dartmouth edged Halifax West 47-45; and C.P. Allen 77-52.
Chosen tournament all-stars were Lauren Jodrey; Meg Ostling from C.P. Allen; Hannah Brown from Memorial; Josie Gascoigne from Dartmouth; and Jessica Umlah from Halifax West.
