KES girls’ volleyball team headed to provincials

King’s-Edgehill School’s senior girls’ volleyball squad has earned a shot at the provincial title.

King’s-Edgehill played host to visiting teams from Clare, New Germany, Bridgetown, Forest Heights, Liverpool, New Germany, West Kings, Digby and the Annapolis West Education Centre for Division 3 regionals Nov. 22-23.

The home team got off to a strong start with back-to-back wins against Bridgetown (2:1) and the Annapolis West Education Centre (2:0). The winning streak ended when Clare, the eventual regional champions, upset KES two sets to one.

King’s-Edgehill advanced to quarterfinals ranked second in their pool, and beat Forest Heights 2:0. New Germany conquered the regional hosts in two sets in semis, but Edgehill ended the tournament on a high note with a 2:0 win against Bridgetown.

King’s directly qualified for provincials with a third place finish at the regional tournament.
