10K runners get ready to cross the start line in Wolfville for the 21st annual Valley Harvest run Oct. 13.
More than 2,000 runners and walkers took to the roads of Wolfville and area Sunday for the annual Valley Harvest Marathon races.
Kentville's Tim Longley was the first finisher, winning the 5K with a time of 16.40. The female winner of the 5K was Meghan McBride, Dartmouth, at 20:51.
Brad Piggott, Halifax, won the 10 K at 33.15. Paula James, Windsor, was the first woman to finish the 10K at 42:22.
Matthew White, Halifax, won the half-marathon with a time of 1:16:01. Sarah Macdonald, Beechville, was the female winner with a time of 1:26:56

Scott McClennan of Dartmouth was the winner of the marathon event with a time of 2:43:36. Florence Gillis, Sydney, was the female winner with a time of 3:29:22.
In the ultramarathon, Matt MacDonald of Antigonish was the winner at 3:32:32. The first woman to complete the ultramarathon was Stacy Chesnutt, who was fifth overall with a time of 4:25:51.
