High School girls’ D-2 provincials are on this weekend at Central Kings.
In the first game Friday afternoon, Amherst Vikettes downed host Gators 75 to 47. Top scorers for Amherst were Danielle Young with 20, Natasha Gouchie with 12 and Lauren MacEachern with 12. On the CK side, Kennedy Curry led with 19 and Serena Dolan had 14.
In the 4 p.m. game, the local squad had better results with the Northeast Kings Titans beating Hants East 53. Gena Harris led for regional champion NKEC with 27 points, followed by Chloe Corkum with 15. Hants East’s Darryl Umlah had 23 points.
The 6 p.m. game saw Amherst beat Millwood 81 -39
Natasha Gouchie, Paige Lewis and Ashley MacEachern each had a dozen points on the Amherst side while Mary Gillis led Millwood with 14.
Hants East took down West Kings in the 8 p.m. game 57 -51. Sara Backman had 19 and Darryl Umlah 15 points on the Hants East side, while Emily Baltzer and Liz Furniss each had 12 for WK.
