The 2009 Kings Senior Games will be held May 25 to June 4, a friendly competition with a variety of different activities for those aged 55 and over.

The games are open to residents of Kings County, including the towns of Wolfville, Kentville and Berwick.

Most of the activities are only $2 to enter (bowling $4), with the Arts & Crafts and the Variety Show free of charge. Fees are collected at the door for each event.

Anyone wanting more information, or to register, may call the recreation department in their area: Kings County Recreation, 690-6191; Wolfville Recreation, 542-3019: Kentville Recreation, 679-2540; New Minas Recreation, 681-6577; Berwick Recreation, 538-4016; Canning Recreation, 582-2033; Kingston Recreation, 765-2800.

The schedule for the Kings Senior Games is as follows: • Auction 45s, Kentville fire hall, May 25, 7 p.m. • Crokinole, Gaspereau Community Hall, May 26, 2 p.m. • Horseshoes, Rotary Park, Wolfville, May 27, 9:30 a.m. • Skip–Bo, New Minas fire hall, May 27, 2 p.m. • Washer Toss, Berwick, Rainforth Park, May 28, 2 p.m. • Arts & Crafts, County Fair Mall, May 29, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. • Darts, Canning Legion May 29, 10 a.m. • Bowling at Fairlanes, New Minas, June 1, 10 a.m. • Cribbage, Coldbrook Lions Hall, June 1, 7 p.m. • Walk & Throw, Acadia Track, June 2, 9:30a.m. • Variety show and awards night, New Minas fire hall, June 4, 7 p.m.
