Midget B provincials in Digby

The Bedford Blues won the Midget B provincial hockey championships 1-0 in overtime over the Cole Harbour Wings Sunday, March 30 in Digby.

Both city teams were undefeated until the final match of the round robin Saturday where Bedford edged Cole Harbour 6-5.

Digby came out of the tournament winless, losing 9-5 Friday to Acadia and 10-1 to Bedford.

Saturday they lost 11-0 to Cole Harbour and 7-3 to Chester.

In the skills competition, Tiernan MacDonald of the Bedford Blues won the forward skating, Kyle McLeod of the Cole Harbour Wings won the backward skating, Mitchell Miller of the Chester Ravens won the puck control, Riley Borden of Acadia Axemen won the accuracy, Jake Brown of the Blues won the shooter portion of the showdown and Daniel Spilman won the goalie side.
