Deciding Game 3 of high school playoff series goes Saturday in Barrington

The deciding Game 3 of a Southwest Nova High School League playoff series will be played in Barrington on Saturday, Feb. 15.

Game time is 1:30 p.m. at the Barrington Arena.

The series is tied at one win a piece between the Yarmouth Vikings and the Barrington Barons.

Both teams will be playing Game 3 with a shortened bench after several suspensions were handed out following a line brawl that erupted between the teams towards the end of the second period of Game 2 of the series in Yarmouth on Feb. 2.

The Vikings had won the first game of the playoff series in Barrington on Feb. 1 by a score of 4-3. Yarmouth had jumped out to an early 3-0 lead but Barrington rallied to tie the game. The winning goal for the Vikings was scored with about two minutes remaining in the game.

The Barrington Barons jumped out to an early lead in Game 2, leading 3-0 before the Vikings got onto the scoreboard. The final score of the game was 4-2.

This is one of two league playoff series happening in the local high school hockey league. The other best-of-three game series was played between Par-en-Bas and Clare, with PEB sweeping that series in two games.

The winner of the Yarmouth-Barrington series will play Par-en-Bas for the league championship. Game 1 of that series is set for
