It was the end of the road Feb. 11 for the Valley Midget Wildcats.
It was a close game until the end, which included a goal that was disallowed, but last year’s divisional winners were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs in a 4-3 game five loss to the South Shore Mustangs in Berwick.
Alexander Rawding, off the stick of Brett Tidman, opened scoring for the Wildcats four minutes into the first period, but South Shore came back for three goals within the first 10 minutes of the second period. Wyatt Stark, with assists going to Cody Burghardt and Liam Sullivan, responded for a goal with just over three minutes left on the clock in the second.
