Avon View Avalanche defensive end (and sometimes linebacker) Cameron McKay said what a lot of fans were thinking following the 41-14 victory Oct. 9 — "You can't help but feel great about the Avon View Avalanche's 3-1 football start to the 2011 season."

The Avlanche took on the Northeast Kings Titans Oct. 9 in their annual Turkey Bowl contest.

J.P. Primeau scored a pair of touchdowns for the Avalanche with single touchdowns being recorded by Russ Lavergne, Nathan Wentzell and Christian May. May also added a number of single points on offense.

Justin Dickenson had a superb game on offense, blocking a punt and recovering it for the final touchdown of the game.

Primeau finished the game with 122 yards rushing and 90 yards returning the football. Quarterback Trevor House was four for 10 for 98 yards and one touchdown pass.  A.J. Whitehead was a giant on defense with 17 tackles and a quarterback sack.

For the Titans, quarterback Dylan Degraaf rushed for one touchdown while Andrew Chase scampered for another.

The Avalanche will now be looking to go 4-1 this coming weekend at home against Cole Harbour High. Game time is 3 p.m. Oct. 15 at Avon View. The Avalanche will then hit the road for two games the following two weekends. They will be back in Windsor Nov. 5.
