The Digby Red Sox will be representing the area at the Peewee A Provincials in Lower Sackville.
The team of 11 heads up to the city Friday, Aug. 29 for the opening ceremonies and their first game at 5: 30 p.m.
They play two games Saturday, one at 9:30 a.m. and another at 4:30 p.m.
The top four teams then move on to playdowns on Sunday.
The tournament includes teams from all across the province.
“It should be a fun and competitive weekend,” says Sean Brown. “This is the same team that won in the same venue as Mosquitos last years so I expect to do very well and have a lot of fun doing it.”
Brown and other parents will keep the Courier informed of scores throughout the weekend.
The last home game for a Digby baseball team is this Wednesday, Aug. 27 when the Mosquito team takes on Bridgetown at 6 p.m. There will also be a picnic in park for Tball on Saturday, Sept. 6 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Organizers will soon be announcing the date and time for the end of year banquet.
