The Halifax Pelham Canadians got the best of the Kentville Wildcats, winning 7-2 in Nova Scotia Senior Baseball League action Wednesday evening in Kentville.
Halifax finished with seven runs on 13 hits, scoring twice in the second, three times in the third, then adding single runs in the seventh and ninth. The Wildcats plated single runs in the second and fifth.
Left-hander Brandon MacKinnon started for Halifax and went five innings to pick up the victory. Craig Field and Joey Cavadini both appeared in relief for the Canadians.
Kentville starter Shayne Conrad went seven innings before giving way to Dusty Isenor who finished the game.
Tyler Fancy finished with two singles and tewo RBI for Halifax. Pat Gilbert chipped in two singles and a double and Connor Sullivan three singles.
Josh Pelham had two singles and one RBI, and Shawn Walsh had an RBI double before leaving the game due to injury.
Jason Pleasant Sampson had two singles and one RBI for Kentville, which finished with two runs on six hits. The Wildcats' second run scored on a wild pitch with the bases loaded.
The Wildcats are next in action Thursday evneing when they visit Dartmouth to take on the first-place Moosehead Dry.
