Kentville Wildcats dealt a loss in senior baseball season opener

A Bearcat was caught between two Wildcats during the team's season opener in Truro May 20.

The Kentville Wildcats ushered in their 2014 season with an 8-1 loss last night in Truro.

The Bearcats, who pounded out 14 hits in the May 20 game, got out to a 4-0 lead on homers by Dan Bates and Guy Pellerine and broke the game open with a four run sixth inning, capped off with a 3 run homer by Jeff Chisholm.

Junior call up Dusty Isenor went deep, scoring for Kentville and Mike Lockhart posted 3 hits for the Wildcats. Josh Fushty picked up the win for the Bearcats, Cory Kent took the loss for Kentville.

The Wildcats' home-opener against Halifax is scheduled for tonight at Memorial Park. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
