A pair of Kings County natives were among those student-athletes recognized  March 27 as Mount Allison University honoured its top student-athletes.

Gillian Tetlow of Port Williams, a member of the Mounties varsity badminton team, was the recipient of the Joey's Drover Leadership Award. The Northeast Kings Education Centre graduate, in her third year at Mount Allison, also plays varsity soccer.

The award honours a returning athlete who shows a combination of leadership, commitment to team, academics and athletic ability, and who represents all the positive attributes of the Mountie family.

Gillian was also chosen by her teammates as the team MVP for badminton.

Horton graduate Bradley Fuller of Avonport, in his first year at Mount A, was the Rookie of the Year for men's basketball.
