Hot on the heels of breaking on record, Chelsea Whalen has set another Nova Scotia record.
Chelsea Whalen gets ready to throw the ball in shot put. The Liverpool athlete recently became the first female shot putter in Nova Scotia to break the 15-metre mark.
At the Razorback Invitational in Arkansas, Whalne threw 16.27 metres in the shot put. It also earned her first place in the competition.
Just last week Whalen set a record of 16.08 metres.
Whalen will be competiting again in two weeks time at the Tyson Invitational in Arkansas.
Whalen is currently a student at Florida State University but lives and trains in Queens County in the summer. Whalen has her goal set on making the Canadian Olympic team for the upcoming summer Olympics.
