Alberta takes women's junior curling championship

Alberta has taken the 2014 women's title at the M&M Meat Shop Canadian Junior Curling tournament against British Columbia.

The game got off to a slow start, with no scores after the first two ends. Then Alberta took a two point lead, and BC spent the rest of the game playing catch up to the team.

In the tenth end both teams went in with a tie at 6-6, but with Alberta with final rock they managed to score a point and clinch the tournament.

The Alberta team will now go on to represent Canada at the World Junior Championship in Switzerland.

The Alberta team from Edmonton are:

On Sunday morning the men's New Brunswick and Albert team play for the other championship spot against Manitoba.
