Ashe leads junior Stingrays over Island Clippers

Connor Ashe poured in a game high 17 points to lead the St. Mary’s Bay Academy junior Stingrays 58-32 over the Island Clippers in a league home game at SMBA on Monday night.

SMBA led 14-6 after one quarter but the Clippers edged the Stingrays 8-6 in the second frame.

The home team took the third quarter 18-11 and finished the game with a 20-7 fourth quarter.

Tylor Smith, Ethan Mullen and Graham Cromwell netted a three-pointer each in the second half while Matthew Thurber and Adam Le added one each for the Clippers.

Graham Cromwell scored nine points for the Stingrays and Jack Sabine and Scott Hankinson chipped in eight apiece.

Gavin Feiel led the Clippers with 10 points and Matthew Thurber finished with nine.
