Acadia University Director of Athletics, Kevin Dickie, and Vice-President Advancement, Rod Morrison, today announced that local broadcaster and music producer, Len Hawley, will join Acadia’s Advancement organization in January 2013.

Hawley will be responsible for Acadia Athletic’s Marketing and Development program through building relationships with new and existing varsity athletic donors and sponsors and strengthening the connection between Acadia and its many Annapolis Valley community partners and stakeholders.

“I couldn’t be happier to welcome Len aboard,” said Dickie. I’ve known Len for a long time and have tremendous respect for his work and for his commitment to the Valley. One of my priorities upon returning to Acadia was to build the capacity within our department, together with our Office of Advancement, to raise the profile of our program and to create the financial capacity to better compete within our conference and across Canada. Adding Len to our team is critical to our success.”

Hawley’s main responsibilities will be to work directly with Acadia’s strong and well-established network of donors and sponsors to deepen their relationship with the University. He will look for ways to leverage the untapped sponsorship potential within Acadia’s sports and recreation facilities and to increase the University’s capacity to offer scholarships and awards to Canada’s best student-athletes.
