This week is a huge one for both local high school teams as King’s-Edgehill School plays host to the Western Zone Divisional 1 High School Boys Hockey Championships at the Hants Exhibition Arena.
The tournament consists of four teams and it will be a round robin affair with the championship game scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Saturday night at the arena.
Play gets underway March 1 when Parkview Education Centre, from Bridgewater, goes up against the talented Horton Griffins.
At 7:30 p.m. that evening, Avon View and King’s-Edgehill collide again with even more at stake than the Fred Lynch Cup —a berth in the provincial division 1 high school boys hockey championship March 24-26 at Centennial Arena in Kentville.
On Friday, March 2 at noon, Avon View will play Parkview and at 2 p.m., in what should be one of the better round-robin games, Horton takes on KES.
At 6 p.m., Avon View is back in action with a game against Horton who will go into this game without a break. Friday night closes with an 8 p.m. game between Parkview and KES.
