Teens fight for wrestling supremacy

Elliott Pick, of Avon View High School, got Morgan Chaisson, of East Hants Rural School, right where he wanted him during the 105 kg senior male division match-up. Pick won the match and placed 3rd overall in that weight category.

Clark placed sixth in the senior male, 68 kg division, while his opponent, who won this match, placed fourth.

David Gillis, of Dr. J.H. Gillis High School, flipped Kenneth Fraser, of Lockview High School, over him during their 58 kg senior male division bout. Gillis went on to win the weight category. Fraser placed fifth.

Danielle Norwood, of Duncan McMillan, took on Larissa Reese, of Millwood High School, came out on top. Norwood placed first overall in the intermediate female 56 kg weight division. Reese placed third.

Kyla Walsh, of King’s-Edgehill School, took on Paige Baker, of Eastern Shore District High School, during a 70 kg intermediate girls wrestling bout. Baker won the match up, and the weight category. Walsh placed fourth in the category.

Eastern Shore District High School saw two wrestlers battle it out for supremacy in the 52 kg intermediate female weight division. Ainse McKay bested Lauren Mason, not only winning the match but also placing first in the weight division. Mason placed second.
