100th anniversary of start of First World War July 28, 2014

For the next 16 weeks leading to Remembrance Day, TC Media weekly newspapers in western Nova Scotia will be highlighting stories connected to the 100th anniversary of the beginning of the First World War. July 28, was the day the war officially began. Canada would be called into the conflict on Aug. 4 when Britain joined the war. The war would last more than four brutal years. More than 60,000 Canadians would die.
