The Yarmouth Junior High girls' soccer team capped off a successful season with a trip to the championship game of the regionals on Monday, but fell short with a heartbreaking 1-0 loss to the Hebbville Patriots.

The Bulldogs had advanced to the championship game after a 4-0 win over Bridgetown. Scoring in that game for Yarmouth were Emma Legere with two goals, along with Allie Munroe and Ashley Mooney.

Following their 1-0 loss in the championship game, coach Bobbie Muise said the team had played with a lot of heart and laid it all out on the field. This team had a strong run this season, winning all of their league and exhibition games. In fact, the only game they loss was the championship game at regionals.

The team easily outscored their opponents during the season 58-7.

During the season the team had 11 shutouts, with keeper Amber Boudreau having 10 of those 11 shutouts.

Allie Munroe led the scoring for the team during the season with 19 goals.

Yarmouth Junior High earned the right to advance to provincials after defeating Maple Grove 3-0 in districts.

The consolation game of the regionals was won by West Hants, which had a 3-0 win over Bridgetown.
