It was a successful year for West Kings athletics, shown during their athlete’s banquet June 9.
Adam Ernst and Amber Davison won the male and female senior athletes of the year awards. Zach Ackerson and Jill Burton were the male and female Junior athletes of the year.
Ernst, a member of the soccer and basketball teams at the school, also won MVP for the senior boys’ soccer team.
Davison was an athlete on the senior girls’ soccer, rugby, basketball and badminton teams. She won additional awards for senior girls’ soccer, senior girls’ basketball and the female scholar-athlete award.
Ackerson, involved in the volleyball, basketball and rugby teams at the school; also won an award for the senior boys’ volleyball team, which consisted entirely of Grade 9 and 10 students this year.
Burton was involved in both girls’ hockey and the track and field team this year.

Girls Rugby – Rookie of the Year: Kirsten Stevenson; MVP: Hilary Alain
Boys Rugby – Most Improved: David Stoddard; Coach’s Award: Tristan Zwicker
Track and Field – Senior Award: Sarah Thomas
Girls Softball – MVP: Jacqueline Palmer
Boys Softball – MVP: Dave Corbin
