The Valley United U-14 girls’ soccer team remained not only unbeaten but unscored-upon following the second weekend of the Nova Scotia Soccer League indoor schedule.

The U-14 girls blanked Bedford 3-0 Saturday, Nov. 8 in Kentville, with Becky Levy, Jessica Shaffelburg and Sarah Scott scoring the goals and Emily Terry earning her second straight shutout. After two games, Valley had scored five goals and allowed none.

The U-16 boys and U-16 girls were also in action Nov. 8, and both teams got to celebrate their first victories of the season after each playing to draws to open the fall schedule.

The U-16 boys blanked Bedford 6-0 on two goals by Calum MacRae, single markers by Jacob MacRae, Dillon Burgess, Cochrane Noseworthy-Smith and Dawson Smith and shutout keeping by Joseph Benedict and Arthur Ferguson.

The U-16 girls didn’t score a shutout, but they did earn a 2-1 win over Cole Harbour, with Shelby Lewis and Carly Goodine scoring the Valley goals.

The Valley U-14 boys, 9-0 winners over Halifax City in their season opener Nov. 1, had the Nov. 7-8 weekend off.

Valley United also has an U-18 girls’ team competing in the indoor season as well as a Senior B women’s team and the Kings Arms Senior A men’s team. The senior teams open their season Nov. 22, while the U-18 season gets underway the week of Nov. 24.
