A long-time empty Thorne in the side of Liverpool should be filled in the near future.

Topics :
Walt MacDonald Real Estate , Irving Oil , Liverpool

Walt MacDonald of Walt MacDonald Real Estate in Liverpool says the sale of the former Thorne’s Hardware building and its 6,800 square feet of space on Main St., Liverpool is expected to close in Dec. “There’s just a minor wait with Irving Oil,” which owns the building, he says.

He adds he cannot, of course, release sale details but offered to relay a message from The Queens County Advance to the purchaser. He is also excited about the pending purchase. “There’s so much space in there and a tremendous amount of potential. What the people are planning to do in there will greatly benefit the town.”

He adds it will be a mixed-use commercial building.

The former hardware store closed over a decade ago and has since been empty.

News of the sale circulated Liverpool while another once empty retail space, the former SAAN building, is being readied to open on Nov. 7 as The Bargain! Shop.
