Thibault re-nominated in West Nova
The West Nova Liberal Association held its annual meeting, nomination and lobster dinner October 3. Some 150 supporters were present for the uncontested nomination of Robert Thibault, left. As the Liberal candidate in the next federal election, Thibault will attempt to regain the seat he held for three consecutive terms until he was defeated by Conservative Greg Kerr in 2009. Thibault spoke of the need to elect a fiscally-responsible, compassionate government under the direction of Michael Ignatieff and the Liberals; and also said West Nova needs a strong voice representing its interests in Ottawa. Dominic LeBlanc, Liberal MP for Beausejour, right; criticized the Conservative Stephen Harper government for squandering a budget surplus during good economic times, limiting its ability to react to the current economic downturn.
