Provincial Liberal Leader Stephen McNeil visited the former railway roundhouse in Kentville on Thursday afternoon to meet with residents and members of the Roundhouse Action Group concerned by town council’s recent decision to demolish the structure. McNeil said he wanted to get a first-hand look at the last roundhouse in our province and see what could be done to preserve this aspect of our rail heritage. He said all potential funding avenues should be exhausted before the building is demolished and the onus is on both the provincial and federal governments to give a clear indication to council and residents whether or not they’d be willing to partner.
