To the Editor:

It’s party season once again and it seems that Kingsport has become party central.

We hope we’re a welcoming community and would like to say that we continue to welcome everyone to enjoy the beach area and our facilities.

What we do not welcome is the vandalism that has accompanied many recent parties. If you would like a bonfire on the beach, please supply your own fuel and don’t use our steps and lawn furniture.

We would also like to ask you to leave the beach clean and not all the broken glass found in a sandy swimming area after a recent party.

We want you to have fun, but it’s worrying to hear car tires screeching around while we suspect young drivers may be impaired, and to hear young women screaming for help.

We worry about your safety as well as the well-being of our community. Please have a happy and safe summer.

Long-time residents,

George and June Barkhouse
