The Municipality of Argyle will ask Nova Scotia’s justice department to study the proposed amalgamation of the Yarmouth town and county RCMP detachments.

The municipality made the motion Tuesday at its regular monthly meeting.

The idea is to get the justice department to initiate an analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of amalgamating the two local Mountie detachments.

Similar letters are sought from the other local two Yarmouth-area municipal units.
